Follow Forage's Progress

Purpose: see how far Forage has got, and how much is left.

1. Open Records. The Progress panel at the top shows the site Forage opened most recently, sites done out of all sites, files read out of files listed, files read per hour, and an estimate of the time to finish at that rate.
2. Read the tiles below it: documents tracked, searchable, waiting and could not be read, and document libraries read and still to read.
3. Open Coverage for the full picture. The four figures at the top answer: how much of the estate is searchable, how many sites are read in full, how many files are still to be read, and when Forage last checked read sites for changes.
4. Read the panels in pairs: The estate and Sites, Still to be read and Change watching, which is whether sites already read are being kept current, then Backfill and Being read right now.
5. Under Within the sites Forage has read so far, see coverage by document type and what was excluded from the index, with the reason.

Good to know: Coverage keeps two answers apart, how much of the whole estate is searchable and how much of what Forage has read so far is searchable, so never quote one as the other. The estate total is only as current as Squirrel's last scan of each site, and the page says when that was. The estimate to finish covers only the files listed so far.
