Follow Forage's Progress

Purpose: see how far Forage has got, and how much is left.

1. Open Records. The Progress panel at the top shows, in turn, the site Forage is reading now and the site it is checking for changes. Hover over it to hold one in place. It also shows sites done out of all sites, files read out of files listed, files read per hour, and an estimate of the time to finish at that rate.
2. Read the tiles below it: documents tracked, searchable, waiting and could not be read, and document libraries read and still to read.
3. Open Coverage for the full picture. The four figures at the top are about what is in scope, the sites you included on the Sites page, which are the only sites Forage reads: Searchable, Still to read, Problems now and Sites listed.
4. Read the bar under them, Where every file in scope stands: searchable, waiting or being read, could not be read, listed but not read, and not listed yet. The tiles below give the reading rate, the files found new in the last hour, when the last change check ran and how many sites are due one, and the first reads under way. Sites in progress lists each site Forage has started but not finished.
5. Under the tabs, open By file type for coverage by file type, Problems for what cannot be read now, Not read for what was listed but not read and why, How files were read for the reading methods and results, and All of SharePoint for every site and file, included or not. Files in sites you have not included are not read.

Good to know: Coverage keeps three answers apart: how much of the files in scope is searchable, how much of all of SharePoint is, and how much of what Forage has read so far is. Never quote one as another. File totals are only as current as the last SharePoint scan of each site, and the page says when that was. The estimate to finish covers only the files listed so far.
