Azure storage cost optimisation
11 pages · Product page on smikar.com
Azure gives you a storage bill but very little sense of what is behind it. Cloud Storage Manager answers the question the portal does not: which storage accounts, containers and blobs are actually consuming your money, and what can safely be moved or removed.
It connects to your Azure subscriptions with read-only access via role-based access control, scans your tenancy, and presents what it finds three ways: a world map of where your storage physically sits, a tree-view explorer for drilling from account to container to individual blob, and reporting on growth, tiering and access patterns over time. Search runs across the entire tenancy, so you can find a file without knowing which account it lives in.
From the explorer you can act on what you find - change a blob's storage tier or delete items directly, rather than noting the path and going back to the portal.
Cloud Storage Manager is free. There is no licence to buy and no trial period; it needs only read-only permissions on the subscriptions you point it at.
Start here: Getting started walks the install, then Connect to Azure covers the RBAC permissions it needs. If you are chasing a specific cost problem, go straight to Top reports or Tiering.
