Chipmunk Troubleshooting Guide

This guide provides solutions to common issues administrators may encounter when using Chipmunk.

Archiving Issues

Archive job stuck "In Progress"

If an archive job appears stuck:

  • Go to the Configuration page.
  • Locate the Archive Monitor Settings.
  • Increase the Stuck Threshold (maximum 270 minutes). For large archives, set this value to the maximum.
  • Save the configuration.
  • Restart the Chipmunk appliance.

All running jobs will automatically restart once the appliance is back online.

Search Issues

No results returned

  • Try different search keywords.
  • Use AI Search for broader coverage, as it searches content, not just file names.

Restore Issues

Restore job fails

  • Confirm that the destination resource exists (e.g., SMB share or Microsoft 365 account).
  • Verify that the Chipmunk appliance has access to the destination.
  • If problems persist, try restoring to another user account or location.
