Reporting in Squirrel

Squirrel now includes a Reporting feature that provides detailed insights into archived and restored files. Users can generate reports on demand to track storage usage, file activity, and historical data trends.

Accessing Reports

Navigate to the Reports section in the Squirrel Admin panel.
Use the search bar to find specific reports.
Click the Run Report button next to the desired report.
The report will be generated and automatically exported as a CSV file for easy analysis.

Available Reports

Reports are categorized into File Activity Reports and Storage Reports:

File Activity Reports

  • Files Archived Today – Number of files archived in the last 24 hours.
  • Files Archived This Month – Number of files archived in the past 30 days.
  • Files Archived This Year – Number of files archived in the current year.
  • Files Restored Today – Number of files restored in the last 24 hours.
  • Files Restored This Month – Number of files restored in the past 30 days.
  • Files Restored This Year – Number of files restored in the current year.

Storage Reports

  • Data Archived Today (GB) – Total storage archived in the last 24 hours.
  • Data Archived This Month (GB) – Total storage archived in the last 30 days.
  • Data Archived This Year (GB) – Total storage archived in the current year.
  • Data Restored Today (GB) – Total storage restored in the last 24 hours.
  • Data Restored This Month (GB) – Total storage restored in the last 30 days.
  • Data Restored This Year (GB) – Total storage restored in the current year.

Site-Specific Reports

  • Data Archived by Site – View archived storage per site over different time periods (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months).
  • Data Restored by Site – View restored storage per site over different time periods (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months).

CSV Export Feature

Every report automatically exports to a CSV file, allowing users to download and analyze the data in Excel or other tools. CSV files can be used for trend analysis, audits, and compliance tracking.

How to Use Reports

Reports provide a high-level summary of archival and restoration trends. Use these reports to monitor SharePoint storage consumption and plan for future storage needs. Regularly review reports to ensure compliance with data retention policies.
