📊 Reporting in Squirrel
The Squirrel platform includes a powerful Reporting feature that provides real-time visibility into archive and restore activity across your SharePoint environment. These reports help administrators monitor usage, track historical trends, and support compliance and storage planning.
You can generate reports on-demand and export them as CSV files for further analysis in Excel or other reporting tools.
📁 Accessing Reports
| 🧭 Navigate to the Reports section in the Squirrel Admin panel. |  |
| 🔍 Use the search bar to quickly find specific reports. |  |
| ▶️ Click Run Report next to the desired report to generate it. | |
| 📥 The report will be downloaded automatically as a CSV file for analysis. |
📂 Available Reports
Reports are grouped into three categories: File Reports, Storage Reports, and Site Data Reports.

📄 File Reports
These reports track file archiving and restoring activity, along with details by type and size:
- Files Archived Today – Lists the number of files archived in the last 24 hours - Files Archived This Month – Lists the number of files archived in the last 30 days - Files Archived This Year – Lists the number of files archived in the current year - Files Restored Today – Lists the number of files restored in the last 24 hours - Files Restored This Month – Lists the number of files restored in the last 30 days - Files Restored This Year – Lists the number of files restored in the current year - Files Archived by Extension – Lists the number of files archived by file extension (e.g., .docx, .pdf, .xlsx) - Storage by File Type – Shows total GB of storage used by each file type - Large Files Report (Top 100) – Identifies the 100 largest files over 100MB in size

These reports track total storage archived or restored, measured in gigabytes (GB):
- Data Archived Today (GB) – Total amount of storage archived in the last 24 hours - Data Archived This Month (GB) – Total amount of storage archived in the last 30 days - Data Archived This Year (GB) – Total amount of storage archived in the current year - Data Restored Today (GB) – Total amount of storage restored in the last 24 hours - Data Restored This Month (GB) – Total amount of storage restored in the last 30 days - Data Restored This Year (GB) – Total amount of storage restored in the current year

These reports break down archiving and restoring activity per SharePoint site:
- Data Archived by Site (Last 30 Days) – Displays the amount of data archived (GB) per site over the last 30 days - Data Archived by Site (Last 90 Days) – Lists the amount of data archived (GB) per site over the past 90 days - Data Archived by Site (Last 180 Days) – Lists the amount of data archived (GB) per site over the past 180 days - Data Archived by Site (Last 365 Days) – Lists the amount of data archived (GB) per site over the past year - Data Restored by Site (Last 30 Days) – Displays the amount of data restored (GB) per site over the last 30 days - Data Restored by Site (Last 90 Days) – Lists the amount of data restored (GB) per site over the past 90 days - Data Restored by Site (Last 180 Days) – Lists the amount of data restored (GB) per site over the past 180 days - Data Restored by Site (Last 365 Days) – Lists the amount of data restored (GB) per site over the past year
📤 CSV Export Feature
All reports export as CSV files, allowing for:
- External analysis using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools - Internal reporting to IT leadership or compliance teams - Long-term storage trend tracking and capacity planning - Support for audits and governance reviews
