How to Restore All Archived Files in a SharePoint Online Site

Restoring an entire SharePoint Online site from Squirrel is a simple and efficient process. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to restore all previously archived files back into SharePoint.

Important Note: Only files that were archived in the selected SharePoint site will be restored. Files that were not archived remain untouched. For this example, we will restore all files in the Engineer site, which was previously archived.

Steps to Restore an Archived SharePoint Site

Log into the Squirrel web portal and navigate to the Restore section.
Step 2: Select the SharePoint Site for Restoration
Locate the Engineer site in the list of archived sites. Click on the Restore Site button.

A confirmation prompt will appear, warning that the process may take time and impact users. Click OK to proceed.
Step 4: Monitor the Restore Progress
The site will now be queued for restoration. Navigate to the Restore Queue section to track progress.
Step 5: Verify the Restored Files
Once the restore process is complete, open SharePoint Online and navigate to the Engineer site. Confirm that all archived files are back in their original locations.
Step 6: Validate Access and Integrity
Open restored files, check permissions, and verify metadata to ensure successful restoration.
