Chipmunk Troubleshooting Guide

This guide provides solutions to common issues administrators may encounter when using Chipmunk.

Archiving Issues

Archive job stuck "In Progress"

If an archive job appears stuck:

  1. Go to the Configuration page.
  2. Locate the Archive Monitor Settings.
  3. Increase the Stuck Threshold (maximum 270 minutes). For large archives, set this value to the maximum.
  4. Save the configuration.
  5. Restart the Chipmunk appliance.

All running jobs will automatically restart once the appliance is back online.

Search Issues

No results returned

  1. Try different search keywords.
  2. Use AI Search for broader coverage, as it searches content, not just file names.

Restore Issues

Restore job fails

  1. Confirm that the destination resource exists (e.g., SMB share or Microsoft 365 account).
  2. Verify that the Chipmunk appliance has access to the destination.
  3. If problems persist, try restoring to another user account or location.
