You will be prompted to choose where you want to restore the file. === Option 1: Restore in Place === Select **Restore in Place** to return the file to its original SharePoint location. The file will be queued for restoration immediately and will become available to end users with the appropriate permissions once complete. === Option 2: Restore to Another Location === Select **To Another Location** to restore the file to a different SharePoint site or folder. This option takes you through a two-step process: **Step 1 — Search for a destination site** - Type at least 3 characters into the site search field. - Matching sites will appear in a dropdown — click the desired site to select it. - A confirmation banner will appear showing the selected site name. **Step 2 — Enter the path within the site** - The path field will be pre-populated with the selected site's base URL. - Type or refine the path to the target folder (e.g. ''Shared Documents/Restored Files/''). - As you type, path suggestions will appear in a dropdown based on existing folders in the site — click a suggestion to select it, or continue typing a custom path. - Click **Restore to This Location** (or press Enter) to queue the restore. Once submitted, a notification will confirm the file has been queued for restoration to the specified path. > â„šī¸ You can click **Back** at any step to return to the previous screen, or click **×** to cancel the restore entirely. ---- ==== ☑ī¸ Bulk Restore ==== To restore multiple files at once, use the checkboxes on the left of each row: * Check individual rows to select them, or use the header checkbox to select all files on the current page. * Selected rows are highlighted in green. * Once one or more files are selected, click **Restore Selected** to queue all selected files for restoration to their original locations. * A notification will confirm how many files were successfully queued, how many were already in the queue, and how many (if any) failed. > â„šī¸ Bulk restore always restores files to their original locations. To restore to an alternative location, use the individual Restore button on each file. ---- ==== 📂 Restore by Filepath ==== When a **Filepath** search is active, an additional **Restore All in Path** button becomes available. This allows you to queue all files matching the current filepath search for restoration in one action. A confirmation dialog will appear showing the number of files affected and prompting you to review your search criteria before proceeding. ---- ==== 💡 Usage Tips ==== * Use **Search by Filename** or **Search by File Path** to narrow results quickly — a minimum of 3 characters is required for both fields. * For bulk review, use pagination to work through the archive in manageable segments. * Restored files retain their original metadata and location structure. * Files remain in the archive list after restoration (with updated status), allowing for full audit trails. * Use the **copy icon** beside any filepath to copy the full path to your clipboard for reference. ---- Need help restoring files or navigating archived content?
